Claim Summary
The Claim Summary page provides an AI-generated summary of a claim. This summary is generated by Sidekick+, Sedgwick’s generative AI tool that integrates Microsoft/OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology with Sedgwick’s established claims management tools.
- Claim summaries are currently only available for auto liability, general liability, property liability, and workers’ compensation claims.
- This feature is only available for users who have the appropriate security access, as well as permissions to view claim notes, legal and financial information, and the Time Tracking screen.
- The Claim Summary feature is not available for client users on Montana or Texas insured workers’ compensation claims.
Accessing the Claim Summary
From the Claim page’s Summary tab, click Claim Summary. The claim summary opens in a new browser tab.
Claim Summary Description
The Claim Summary page includes an overview of the claim’s main details, including claimant and client information in the top section. The middle section outlines the Type of Injury, Liability Assessment (certain claims only), Claim Status, Summary of Actions taken on the claim, Legal Aspects of the claim, and the Path to Resolution specified in claim notes. The third section shows the claim’s financial details: Total Incurred, Paid to Date, and Future Reserve amounts.
Specific section vary by claim type, as described below:
- Workers’ Compensation Claims: The top section includes the employee’s employment and wage details.
- General Liability Claims: The middle section includes a Liability Assessment section indicating the client’s exposure, and first section is labeled Type of Injury/Damages. The third section also includes 1st Party Deductible amounts, as well as additional fields.
- Auto Liability Claims: The third section also includes Subrogation, Litigation, and Tendered flags.
You can export the claim summary as a .pdf by clicking Export at the top-right corner of the page.
- While the top and bottom sections should load without delay, the middle section containing AI-generated summaries may take extra time to load. If there is too much data to be summarized or there are no notes on the claim, an error is displayed.
- Audit notes, deleted notes, sensitive notes, notes created by invalid users, and notes created more than one year in the past are not considered by Sidekick when generating the summaries.
